Are you looking for an awesome book to share with early elementary students??? Well here it is!!!! The Purple Kangaroo, by comedian Michael Ian Black (Chicken Cheeks, I Love the 80s) is an interactive, not to mention, totally hilarious picture book, narrated by a monkey who claims he can "read minds!" I used this book throughout summer reading promos, and the kids loved it! Just be sure to get plenty of practice! There are some serious mouthfuls (but it's worth it for all the laughs)!
